Photodetector Transient Response Under Different Bias Voltages

Dataset

This dataset contains oscilloscope recordings of the transient response of a photodetector under different applied bias voltages.

Channel description:

CH1 – Photodetector response signal (voltage output from the amplifier, sensitivity setting = 2E-5 A/V).
CH2 – Electrical pulse trigger signal used to excite or synchronize the measurement.

Each CSV file was recorded using a Tektronix oscilloscope. The files contain three columns:

Column 1 – Time (s)
Column 2 – CH1 (photodetector response, V)
Column 3 – CH2 (trigger pulse, V)

The trigger (CH2) is a square pulse. The detector response (CH1) follows the trigger with finite rise and fall times determined by device physics and circuit response.

Bias conditions:

Each file corresponds to a different applied detector bias voltage. The filename encodes the bias condition as listed below:

T0008 – -5 V
T0009 – -4.5 V
T0010 – -4 V
T0011 – -3.5 V
T0012 – -3 V
T0013 – -2.5 V
T0014 – -2 V
T0015 – -1.5 V
T0016 – -1 V
T0017 – -0.5 V
T0018 – -0.01 V
T0019 – 0 V
T0020 – 0.1 V
T0021 – 0.5 V
T0022 – 1 V
T0023 – 1.5 V
T0024 – 2 V
T0025 – 2.5 V
T0026 – 3 V
T0027 – 3.5 V
T0028 – 4 V
T0029 – 4.5 V
T0030 – 5 V

Measurement purpose:

The dataset is intended for extracting transient characteristics of the photodetector, including:

* Signal amplitude (V), used to convert into signal current (A) using known gain setting
* 10–90% rise time
* 90–10% fall time
* Bias dependence of response speed
* Comparison between reverse and forward bias operation

The file "rise_fall_results.csv" contains the statistical results calculated from each transient, primarily for validation and reproducibility checks.

For the manuscript figures and reported values, photocurrent, rise and fall times were directly read from the oscilloscope measurements rather than from the MATLAB post-processing results.
