Comparison of the Parisian observations with the German observations reveal that several German observations require a correction. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Data format: ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Place - Location of the observer; YYYY - Year; MM - Month; DD - Day; HH - UT Hour of the original note of time of observation given by an observer; MI - UT Minute of the original note of time of observation given by an observer; G_LH - Number of sunspot group according to numeration assigned by us in La Hire's observations; G - Arbitrary number of a sunspot group; Sp - Arbitrary number of a sunspot; BBB.BB - Heliographic latitude. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Sunspot observations by Maria Eimmart were previously analyzed in Vokhmyanin and Zolotova (in Solar Physics, 2023, 298:113, https://doi.org/10.1007/s11207-023-02208-4). A new look at Maria Eimmart's observation on 9 July 1703, from Eimmart's archive, reveals that it does not match any other observations. Therefore, we caution against using these data until they are confirmed by other solar observations. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Sunspot observations by Johann Hoffmann were previously analyzed in Vokhmyanin and Zolotova (in Solar Physics, 2023, 298:113, https://doi.org/10.1007/s11207-023-02208-4). Below, we provide the sunspot positions and areas from the corrected observations by Johann Hoffmann, defined by Vokhmyanin and Zolotova (in Solar Physics, 2026, in press). According to the original pencil drawing, in the May sunspot group, the small sunspots preceded the large one (Figure 4 c and d in Vokhmyanin and Zolotova, 2023). On the contrary, in his letter to Georg Eimmart, Hoffmann wrote that the small sunspots always followed behind the large one. In 2026, La Hire's observations resolved this contradiction: we think that when Hoffmann compiled the measurements with the individual sunspot drawings, he had forgotten to reverse and flip the sunspot drawings. We improved the pencil drawing and recalculated sunspot parameters. Hoffmann did not divide sunspots into umbra and penumbra. Therefore, we do not know whether he drew only the umbra or the penumbra. The average uncertainty in sunspot area is about 30%, but may reach a factor of three. Below, we provide the sunspot positions and areas from the corrected observations by Johann Heinrich Muller, defined by Vokhmyanin and Zolotova (in Solar Physics, 2026, in press). A comparison of the observations by La Hire and Muller reveals that in August 1709 Muller used the equatorial mount of a telescope. Therefore, we recalculate sunspot parameters from Muller's observations on 24 and 25 August. Previously (Vokhmyanin and Zolotova, 2023) we suggested an altitude-azimuth mount.
