Description:
Abstract:
This dataset describes CSV (ASCII text) data tables from a geographic information system (GIS) layers used for the study 'Running a Super SDM (Species Distribution Model) ‘in the cloud’ for Better Habitat-Associations, Predictions and Inference: Applying Open Access Big Data, Machine Learning Ensembles on Great Gray Owls in Alaska' by the co-authors. This data set is drived from GIS overlays from a compiled set of GIS raster (tiff) layers and some shapefiles in ESRI format to be used for model-prediction and analysis.
The data are used as model input and outputs in a SuperSDM run.
This dataset is part of a appendix with the best-known and compiled GGOW (Strix nebulosa) presence records and over 100 predictors.
The projection of the data is Alaska specific (Alaska in feet, NAD83) but can apply decimal latitude and longitude WGS84
(bot coordinate pairs are included).
.
The zipped data submission package of all those files has a size of 23GB.
The following data layers are included:
-Best publically available 410 Presence records of the GGOW (400KB)
-Presence and Background (Lattice) for GGOW. (209 MB)
-The predicted relative index of ocurrence (RIO) for GGOW from randomforest (15kb)
A doi of this work and dataset is coming forward. Thus far, the data are available from te authors and
an Online Google Drive.
Purpose: GIS modeling and inference for Great Great Owl data in Alaska
