Current publication figure assets

main/Fig1–Fig5 and supplementary/FigS1–FigS11 are supplied as vector PDF and EPS and as 600 dpi PNG. Figure-caption mappings are in CAPTION_PANEL_MAPPING.txt; MAIN_CAPTIONS.txt and SUPPLEMENT_CAPTIONS.txt provide the corresponding captions. figure_manifest.json records source basenames, sizes, resolutions, embedded fonts and hashes. All 16 PDFs contain zero raster image objects. Figure 5 uses vector heatmap cells and a vector colour scale.

Scientific values come from previously completed archived analyses. No new estimator evaluations, simulations, inference or quadrature were run for these figures. The plotted CSV values for Figures 1–4 and all 11 supplementary figures match the archived plotted_summary_values.csv and legacy_plotted_values.csv exactly. Figure 5 uses a byte-identical copy of the archived Figure5_plotted_values.csv.

Run from this figure directory:
  python verify_figure_assets.py
  python code/regenerate_figures.py --archive-root inputs
  python code/regenerate_legacy_figures.py --archive-root inputs
  python code/make_figure5.py

The first command verifies the canonical figure assets, plot tables and copied inputs against the retained archive records. The three generation scripts write source-named outputs to code/. figure_manifest.json maps source basenames to canonical Fig names. Retain the delivered canonical files in main/ and supplementary/. PDF and EPS metadata may differ after regeneration.

All paths are resolved relative to the extracted archive. inputs/ contains the exact completed source tables and saved permutation draws used by the first two plotting scripts. make_figure5.py without arguments reads code/Figure5_plotted_values.csv; its optional --summary/--paired arguments can instead read the complete extension tables.

Dependencies: Python, NumPy, pandas, Matplotlib, Pillow, python-docx and PyMuPDF, using the archive requirements files. The optional --source-docx argument to the legacy plotting script was not used for this presentation build; the archived source-image identity check had already been completed in an earlier build. Its source_embedded_images_byte_identical=false summary flag means that this optional check was not rerun, rather than a numerical or image mismatch.
