URUANA DE MINAS — MAGNETIC × GEOLOGY HOLDOUT AUDIT Magnetic-only selection (before geology): - fixed center: -16.0593, -46.2585 - frozen target: 0–8 km - 30 reconstructions: field raw/diurnal-corrected × detrend degrees 1–3 × upward continuation 0/1/2/4/6 km - mirrored 1-km candidate lattice inside each 8-km window - selected anchor minimizes Pmax, the worst-case distance to the 30 zero contours Uruana magnetic anchor: - offset: +2 km east, +5 km north - distance from city: 5.385 km - Pmax: 0.937 km - independent SGB geology opened afterward - nearest lithologic contact: Serra de Santa Helena / Lagoa do Jacaré - contact distance: 30.7 m Mirrored regional holdout: - controls <16 km excluded to prevent overlap of two 8-km target windows - n = 1195 non-overlapping controls - contact as close as Uruana: 19/1195 = 1.59% - magnetic Pmax equal or better than Uruana: 61 controls - among those, contact as close as Uruana: 1/61 = 1.64% - controls satisfying BOTH thresholds: 1/1195 = 0.084% Status: - This is an exploratory mirrored rank, not a confirmatory p-value. - The cross-domain observation is strong because the magnetic anchor was fixed before opening the lithologic map. - Uruana is not unique: one non-overlapping control matches/exceeds both observed thresholds. Directional audit: - A subset of nearby SGB lineaments/faults has local strike ~40–41°, near the historical ~43° direction. - However, a length-weighted 8-km directional null shows the 43° share is not rare regionally. - Therefore 43° is NOT promoted to core evidence. - The magnetic zero-contour tangent also rotates materially with upward continuation, so a single fixed ~14° magnetic-axis claim is retired.
