Article: Resource Dependence and Political Risk Are Associated with Weaker Sustainable Development Performance in a Multicountry Panel

Files
Online Resource 1: Descriptive country-year panel for the retained 32-country sample, 2018-2025.
Online Resource 2: Resource-complete estimation panel used for the reported models, 32 countries over 2018-2023 (192 observations).
Online Resource 3: Variable definitions, transformations, coding directions, source descriptions, and notes.
Online Resource 4: Descriptive resource-intensity group assignments.
Online Resource 5: R code for the aggregate and decomposed mixed models, interaction tests, residual screen, winsorization, shock-window exclusion, leave-one-country-out analysis, AR(1) checks, Mundlak decomposition, and supporting panel diagnostics.

Reproducibility
Place Online Resources 2 and 5 in the same folder, set that folder as the R working directory, and run Online_Resource_5_Analysis_Code.R. The script installs any missing packages and writes model and leave-one-country-out outputs to the working directory.

The recursive-residual results reported in the manuscript use the specialised linear-mixed-model recursive-residual procedure cited in the article. The processed data required to repeat that diagnostic are included in Online Resource 2. The principal fitted models and the remaining reported sensitivity analyses are directly reproduced by Online Resource 5.

Data-use note
The files are processed from public and institutional secondary sources described in the manuscript and data dictionary. Users remain responsible for the licensing terms of the original source series. No individual-level or personal data are included.
